Michael B. Jones

Attorney Jones’ thirty (30) years of trial experience encompass a variety of civil litigation matters including wrongful death, serious personal injury, motor vehicle and tractor trailer accidents, bar fights, defective products, injuries to children, intoxication, assault, negligent security, professional negligence, insurance coverage disputes, municipal defense, employment matters, contracts, commercial and corporate contract negotiation and litigation.

Attorney Jones is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum having resolved cases with million-dollar verdicts or settlements. He is a past Zone Ten Governor to the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) where he has been a Delegate for over 20 years. As a local leader in Oil and Gas Law, Attorney Jones has represented numerous landowners and municipalities in oil and gas related transactions and complex litigation.

In February of 2020 Attorney Jones moderated and presented with a panel of tax litigators, government representatives and experts a continuing legal education seminar titled “Preparing for a Countywide Reassessment” to educate local attorneys on what is anticipated to be thousands of real estate tax appeals in the aftermath of a Court-Ordered Beaver County Reassessment.

As a leader in the community, Attorney Jones sits on the Board of various charitable organizations including the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the Beaver County Educational Trust and The Center in Midland. As President of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the PBA, he focuses on development initiatives for future growth of the Foundation. The Foundation provides loan repayment assistance to law students, grants to Bar Associations and materials for law-related education activities such as Law Day.

Attorney Jones currently serves as Solicitor for Hopewell Township (1996), Greene Township (2011), the Prothonotary for Beaver County (2024), and the Beaver Borough Municipal Authority (2023). Attorney Jones also helped guide Potter Township through the multi-billion dollar Shell Cracker Plant development project spanning nearly a decade. He also served as Assistant Beaver County Solicitor early in his career and Solicitor to the Beaver County Coroner from 2001-2015.
